Bio brief —
Guy Dayvault is the principal consultant for Energy Deal Solutions LLC. Prior to forming Energy Deal Solutions in 2010, he led the LNG Commercial Development team for Gazprom Marketing & Trading USA, Inc., a subsidiary of OAO Gazprom, based in Houston and focused on North American and European LNG opportunities, including regas capacity for the Shtokman LNG project and Sakhalin LNG.
Prior to joining Gazprom in 2006, he was at Marathon four years as a Commercial Negotiator for various LNG and gas projects including the proposed North Sea Symphony gas pipeline. Before that he was at Enron for seven years in various deal structuring and commercial roles on international power, gas & LNG developments, exploration & production, and domestic US retail power & gas. In the early 1990’s he lived in London as commercial coordinator for a Russian joint venture steamflood in Timan Pechora, near the Arctic Circle. His career began with ten years at Chevron as a production and reservoir engineer in Southern California and in crude oil trading in Houston.
Guy has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University, an MS in Petroleum Engineering from University of Southern California and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification.

LNG Liquefaction & Marketing
- LNG Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) at Baja California; led negotiations for Seller
- Heads of Terms for LNG Sale and Purchase at Baja California; commercial negotiator
- LNG time-swap Sale And Purchase Agreements (SPAs): MOUs and detailed term sheets for long-term and short-term agreements at various locations (specifics confidential, ‘09); led and oversaw negotiations for Buyer on various transactions
- Baltic LNG (a proposed LNG liquefaction facility near St Petersburg, Russia): led Commercial Structuring and clarifying negotiations of RFP responses (’07)
- Shtokman LNG (a proposed LNG liquefaction facility in Barents Sea, Russia): commercial evaluation and negotiation of lifting and marketing proposals by short listed companies for upstream participation in 2006 iteration
- MOUs and LOIs for marketing gas downstream of various LNG regas terminals (’06) in connection with Shtokman LNG; commercial negotiator
- Equatorial Guinea LNG: led a team of 15-20 experts in Commercial Risk Assessment of all major project agreements (SPA, EPC construction, Gas Sale, Ownership, cross agreement Force Majeure risk, etc) and report to Executive Committee recommended Risk Management Plans and resultant residual risks (’04)
- LNG Sale and Purchase Agreements (SPAs) in Southeast Asia for delivery into Baja California (’03-’04); co-lead for Buyer

- Rabaska proposed LNG Regas terminal in Quebec, Canada: conceived the commercial deal and led commercial arrangements and negotiated both Letter of Intent and subsequent definitive agreements for regas capacity and equity ownership (’06-’08);
